Feature of Thoracic Drainage Catheter
Drainage Holes: Multiple Mini holes or parts let water or air in the tube for venting. These ports are specifically placed to smooth way to drainage out from the lungs.
Connecting Tubing: One side of Thoracic catheter normally has a connector or adaptor that will help to connect in the drain. It will also help to collect in room, drying equipment, or underwater sealing system depending on different circumstances.
Placement Marker: In different Thoracic drainage catheters have markers that are not radiopaque along their length, that can be seen on x-rays, can be helpful to confirm successful implantation of the lung and monitor the long-term health of the node.
Suture Holes or Flanges: It may possible to have suction holes or flanges so that the wires can be safe and securely connect to the skin to prevent leaking.
Stylet or Trocar: On the occasion of insertion, the chest wall can be pierced with a stylet or trocar and the needle can be guided into the thoracic cavity. One time the device is positioned, the stylet is usually removed and the flexible catheter is left in place.
